There are many different hunting seasons that are open throughout the year in each state. Only certain types of game can be hunted during these open seasons. Here’s a look at some different hunting seasons and when they are open in various states.
In the state of Wisconsin, white-tail deer season starts in September and ends in January but not without specific guidelines to follow. There are certain dates in this time frame when a hunter can kill a deer with either a bow, a gun, or a muzzleloader. The month of December offers a statewide antler less hunt for just three days. The youth hunt in this state is in October with a time frame of only two days.
The opossum and raccoon hunting season in Tennessee has its share of regulations as well. In this state, these small game animals can be hunted from November to February only in East Tennessee counties. The rest of the state is allowed to hunt opossum and raccoon from the months of September to February. During both of these seasons, a bag limit of two animals per person per night is allowed. The state of Tennessee requires that these animals may only be hunted at night. Night is defined as a twenty-four period after sunset.
The state of Arkansas is a popular region for turkey hunting. Crossbows, firearms and archery weapons may be used to hunt this bird. This season generally runs from October to February depending on the hunting method that is used.
